Built in 1898, Benromach Distillery stands on the outskirts of the ancient town of Forres in the beautiful "Laich of Moray" The distillery takes its name and also its water from the nearby Romach Hills.
The distillery is owned by Gordon and MacPhail a family company with over one hundred years of tradition and experience of bottling fine malt whiskies.
From first fill sherry hogsheads. On the nose the whisky has developed flavours of burnt sugar, treacle with floral flavours (lavender and wax polish) with mulled fruits in the background.
Upon tasting , confiming the above with a subtle smokiness.
